Building the Future: Meet Vernon Nagel’s 2026 Interns

At Vernon Nagel, Inc., investing in the future of the construction industry means creating opportunities for the next generation to gain hands-on experience both in the field and behind the scenes. This year’s interns bring a variety of educational backgrounds and career interests, but they all share a common passion for teamwork, problem-solving, and building infrastructure that communities rely on every day.


Through their time at Vernon Nagel, these interns are gaining real-world experience while learning directly from experienced professionals across the heavy highway construction industry. From communication and coordination to project planning and field operations, each intern is building a strong foundation for a future career in construction.


Olivia Konves

Olivia Konves

Olivia Konves, a Fremont native and graduate of Clyde High School, also attended Vanguard Tech Center where she studied Electrical Trades. She was drawn to the heavy highway construction industry because of the lasting impact infrastructure projects have on communities. Olivia enjoys hands-on work and appreciates being part of projects that help keep people and communities connected.


During her time at Vernon Nagel, Olivia has learned the importance of communication, teamwork, and attention to detail on a job site. She has also gained a deeper understanding of the planning and coordination required to keep projects operating safely and efficiently. Outside of work, Olivia enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends.

Landen Kruse

Landen Kruse

Landen Kruse is from Napoleon, Ohio, and graduated from Liberty Center High School in 2024. He is currently studying engineering at The Ohio State University. Landen enjoys the balance of hands-on work and office responsibilities that construction offers, as well as the wide variety of opportunities available within the industry. Seeing projects progress from start to finish is one of the aspects of construction he finds most rewarding.


One of the biggest lessons Landen has learned at Vernon Nagel is the level of communication and teamwork required to successfully complete a project. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, following sports, and spending time with friends.

Travis Iliff

Travis Iliff

Travis Iliff, from Napoleon, Ohio, graduated from Napoleon High School and is currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management at Bowling Green State University. His interest in construction developed through the industry’s continuous growth and the wide range of career opportunities available within it.


Working at Vernon Nagel has allowed Travis to gain valuable experience reading and interpreting construction plans while also contributing to the pre-construction process. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on the golf course.

Drew Rosengarten

Drew Rosengarten

Drew Rosengarten is from Hamler, Ohio, and attended Patrick Henry High School. He is currently studying civil engineering at The University of Toledo. Drew has always been interested in construction and viewed an internship opportunity as a way to gain meaningful real-world experience that could help jumpstart his career.


During his time at Vernon Nagel, Drew has learned how critical communication and organization are within the construction industry. With so many moving parts on every project, clear communication plays an important role in keeping work progressing smoothly and efficiently. Outside of work, Drew enjoys golfing and spending time with friends and family.

Luke Webb

Luke Webb

Luke Webb is from Defiance, Ohio, and graduated from Defiance High School in 2024. He is currently studying Construction Management at Ohio Northern University. Luke’s interest in construction started at a young age after watching both his dad and grandfather build careers in the industry and make a lasting impact through their work.


During his time at Vernon Nagel, Luke has learned the importance of showing up early, being prepared to give his best effort every day, and communicating effectively with a variety of personalities on a job site. Outside of work and school, Luke enjoys playing baseball, farming, hunting, and golfing.
